Ryan Hofer

As head coach of TWU WVB for the past 20 years, he has guided them to seven national medals since taking over as head coach and to six Canada West titles in the last ten seasons. Ryan has coached volleyball at every level in Canada from grassroots to National Team. His passion for coaching and helping individuals perform their best is a huge asset to our coaches and athletes.

    Carol Hofer

    Nickname: Boomer—a playful nod to her heavy arm and hitting/spiking prowess!

    Fun fact: Carol is a proud mom of 3 sons, all of whom have played or currently play post-secondary volleyball. Even more exciting? One of them is currently playing on our National Team! What an achievement for the whole family!

    Bio

    • Brynden is in his 6th year as an Assistant Coach at Trinity Western University, where he continues to inspire and guide the next generation of volleyball talent.
    • Prior to that, he spent 15 years coaching at Langley Christian School, creating a lasting impact in the community. 🙌
    • A former setter, Brynden played 3 years at Canadian Mennonite University and 1 year at the University of the Fraser Valley. 📚🏐
    • His volleyball IQ and passion for the game make him a force to be reckoned with on and off the court.

    Ryan Hofer

    Nickname: Hoffa

    Fun fact: Ryan is an accordion player.

    Bio: Ryan is a certified NCCP Level IV (indoor) and Level II (beach) coach. Individually, he was recognized as the Canada West and U SPORTS women’s volleyball Coach of the Year in 2010-11. Hofer also has experience coaching internationally, with Team Canada, as he has been the head coach or the assistant coach at a number of major international women’s events.

    • Miriam’s passion for volleyball is only matched by her commitment to the team’s growth and success.
    • With coaching experience at Synergy and the high school level, Miriam brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the court.
    • While she played volleyball in high school, her love for the sport truly shines through in her coaching, where she thrives on guiding athletes both on and off the court.
    • Miriam also has amazing organizational skills, juggling the chaos of raising 3 kids under 4 years old while keeping Joel Pesut in check! 😅 She’s the queen of multitasking and still manages to bring her A-game to the volleyball court.
    • Miriam’s here to support everyone and bring her experience, energy, and love for the game to FVVC. She’s also married to the awesome Joel Pesut, a true volleyball family!

    Nickname: Mimi—a name that’s stuck with her over the years!

    Fun fact: Miriam is part of a big family—she’s one of six siblings! Growing up in a close-knit household, she’s always had a strong sense of teamwork and support. 💪

    • Kat has helped athletes crush goals and reach new heights, 📚🏅 giving her a solid foundation to guide players through every set and spike.

    Nickname: Kat, that is her nickname, which more accurately captures her fun-loving, approachable vibe than Kathleen, the name she was born with 💬💥

    Fun fact: She’s hiked on 4 different continents! 🌍 From the Rockies to Machu Picchu, this adventurer is always up for a challenge—whether it’s climbing mountains or coaching athletes to greatness. 🏔️
